Take a little peek...

into our new HOME.

Ignore all the boxes--we're not done unpacking! We are so happy to be in our own place. Seems like we're the last couple we know to buy a house. Feels good.

The boys have taken well to the change and Logan LOVES his new house. He keeps saying, "Mommy--this is OUR house. Not the Morris's!" (We were house sitting for a couple on a mission.)

So here's a looky-lou for ya!

Our kitchen--lovin that fridge.

The dining room--it's attached to the kitchen.

The living room. This furniture and the tv will be downstairs when we finish the rooms off this summer. Then I get to decorate how I want! :) Oh, and those curtains are sooooo coming down. Not mine. They kinda make the room look pink when they are closed.

So life's been crazy and we just got internet back up and running--that's why I haven't posted in a while! Now I'm stuck dealing with boxes, a broken dishwasher, ugly curtains (you should see the ones in the bedrooms--purple stripes. that's all I can say), and a lot of emotions. I have a hard time with change and it's hard to leave a home where Landen was born, Logan got his first big boy bed, was pottytrained, etc etc etc.... and hard to leave a ward we love and have such good friends in. Seems like I'm in need of a big hug these days! But I love our house and can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us here!

A Poopy Two Days

Man! It seems that lately my days have been filled with poop. We've had a number of incidents in our home-- some of which I will NOT go into detail. Don't worry. But I do have a funny one--well, it's funny now that I'm not dealing with it.

I left the room for 2 minutes to quickly check my email and Logan comes in:

Logan: "Mommy, the baby has a poopy diaper. You need to change him."

Me: "How do you know he has a poopy diaper?"

Logan: "'Cuz I checked him." (giving me the "duh! how else would I have known?" look)

Me: "Okay, HOW did you check him? Did you smell him or did you look inside his diaper?"

Logan: "I looked inside his diaper."

So now I'm worried. I go into the living room to find Landen running around next to our NEW couch with a poopy butt--naked. Yea, the dirty diaper was laying in the middle of the floor. Luckily poo did not get everywhere. Logan is banned from checking stinky diapers.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhh the life of a stay at home mother. I just know you are all dying to come rescue me. haha :)

I remember the days...

when I could watch conference all the way through... without being yelled at, jumped on, running kids to time out, changing dirty diapers and passing out snacks. I think I probably heard 4 talks all the way through--but they were wonderful talks. I really feel that this General Conference brought me a new feeling of faith and spiritual preparedness. I'm so grateful for the Gospel and for the light it has brought into my life and the lives of those around me.

Besides the wonderful talks, we always make WONDERFUL food. Gotta have the snacks. :) I found this recipe on a friends blog and HAD to try it. OH MY GOODNESS--it is soooooo like the real thing!! Everyone LOVED them! Putting this one in my favorites file!

Use a 9x13" pan and line it with foil before hand--this will make the cutting soooo much easier!

Snicker Bars

Allow each layer to harden before adding the next...(I usually just pop them in the freezer while I'm preparing the next layer.)

Bottom Layer
1c. chocolate chips
1/4c. creamy peanut butter
1/4 c. peanut butter chips

Melt together and spread in bottom of pan

2nd Layer
1 c. white sugar
1/4 c. milk
1/4 c. butter

Boil these ingredients for 5 minutes, then add:

1/4 c. peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 c. marshmallow creme

Spread over bottom layer

3rd Layer
1 c. sallted peanuts (crushed slightly)

4th Layer
40 caramels
4 tbsp hot water

Melt and drizzle over peanuts

5th Layer
Same as bottom layer

Yummy, yum, yum.

Have a wonderful day--thanks for stopping by!!

Oh, and I must correct my last post. My mother informed me that I HAVE been in a rainforest before.
