Yes, officer??

This is me hanging my head in shame.

I got pulled over for the FIRST time in my life.

I was at a four way stop behind a HUGE line of cars that we going straight, I needed to turn right, so I went around them. Not smart when you're yelling at your two boys to stop fighting over a ballon and you have a headache--cuz then you don't notice the cop in line.

of course when the officer asked me why I did that, I told him I was a little distracted by my boys yelling in the back. He looks back and says, "well, they aren't screaming now." WELL OF COURSE NOT--you're scaring the dickens out of them! (yes, I wrote dickens--got that from my grandma.) The nerve--he must not have kids.

Couldn't find my insurance paper because Brandon just switched to a new company.

Started crying.

Logan asked me, "why is the police officer pulling us over?"

I had to respond, "Because mommy made a poor decision" Then I felt like a HORRIBLE person.

I made it out without a ticket.

Brandon asked me later (after a good laugh) if I had played the "crying" card. I said, " you think that I would cry on purpose??? Do you not know me?? I cry over anything and when you put a headache, two scared children, and can't find the right paperwork together--I'm gonna cry. "

We did make it out alive. So much for my streak. First time for everything.

First day of preschool!

And a little free time for mommy! YAYYY!!

Logan has been talking about preschool for the last couple months. So you can only imagine how excited he was that day. He kept saying, "I'm going to preschool, and you CAN'T come! And Landen has to stay with mommy!" I think he's going to miss me. Sob.

I timed Landen's nap for while Logan's at school so that makes for a couple hours of free time--oh, what will I do???? I can think of a BILLION things!

Here's a picture of Logan doing a little back to school dance!! I keep thinking of that commercial that I love where the kids are doing the robot dance with their backpacks! LOVE it!

Watch out ladies--here comes a charmer!

Baseball and good friends!

Before we went to Seattle, Brandon subbed at our friend's softball game. It was really, really windy, but the kids had a lot of fun running around and goofing off! This is Logan's friend Kinley, they have so much fun together. We live across the street from each other and any time she's outside, Logan runs out, starts waving and screaming her name! So cute. I think they will be the
best of friends!

While we're recovering...

we just came back from a week long vacation to see my family in Seattle. It was a nice trip--and I have a ton of pictures to share once I'm done editing them! Now that we're back, we've all had the flu. We're pretty much over it--but until I recover completely, here's a fun thing to fill out each day from the Simple Woman's Handbook Blog.

For Today...

Outside my window... red and yellow dalias

I am thinking... how happy I am that I'm not throwing up tonight! :)

I am thankful for... our health. That my two boys recovered from being sick and they are back to being busy toddlers. That they both told me they love me and gave me a big hug and kiss. That I got to snuggle with Logan on the couch while he watched a movie.

From the kitchen...Children's Ibuprofen on the counter, a sink full of dishes, and a stack of mail waiting to be opened!

I am wearing... black yoga pants and a big t-shirt!

I am reading... Wherever you go, there you are.

I am hoping... to finally get my kitchen painted this week.

I am creating... Christmas cards and tags for our upcoming enrichment night.

I am praying... for our basement to get finished without any major complications!!

Around the house... stepping on hot wheels that Landen scattered across the hall, thinking I need to clean the bathroom, still unpacking our suitcases, and thinking about getting all of Logan's school supplies.

One of my favorite things... when Landen really gives me a hug, he squeezes me around the neck and doesn't let go!

A few plans for the rest of the week... let's see...enrichment night, going to see UP with the kids, seeing Harry Potter at some point, painting my kitchen, starting on the basement, and finishing up some assignments!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
Love camping, playing in the mud, and hiking!!

A birthday, a 911 call, and Poison Control...

So, this is the reason I haven't posted in a while...

Logan turned 4 on Sunday! YAY! I can't believe how big he is! Seems like he grows a foot each year! He informed me on the way to a friends house, "mom, now that I'm four, I'm no longer scared of dogs." Yet when we were over there, he ran from the dog and jumped into my arms. haha It might take another year to shake that fear! He got totally spoiled and ate lots of cake (always love that part!)

Then we lost him. My parents were in town and we were all busy making curtains and finishing the basement. I let him ride his new bike in the driveway while we had the door open. I went outside after a while and he was gone. The bike was there, the scooter was there, and I started yelling for him. My whole family went out and searched the neighborhood. When we didn't find him, I thought for sure someone had taken him--needless to say I was BAWLING. I screamed for him in the house and he wasn't in any of the rooms, so I called 911. Before I could sob out my address to the poor operator, my grandma came running out with him. He had gotten into my scrap room, dumped a bottle of paint on the floor, and thinking he was in trouble, hid in the closet.... I was happy to see him... not so happy about my floor. I think he learned his lesson when daddy talked to him about why mommy was crying so much.

oh, and it's not over.... then a couple days ago I was finishing up some projects and Landen was crying for me... as usual. I shut the door for 5 minutes so I could finish up some work on the computer and then I hear him go from crying to screaming. I still thought he just wanted me, so I ignored him (I know, what a great mom huh??) then Logan said, "Mom, he's got glitter in his eyes!" WHAT? I don't have any glitter out in the living room. I opened the door to find him with foam all over his eyes. He had squirted Dawn dishsoap in his eyes and then kept rubbing at it until it foamed up. So then I had the wonderful task of calling Poison control who told me to do a 15 minute flush of water in his eyes. yea, imagine how fun that is. I think I still have scratches on my arm. BUt, it's over and now my dishsoap is no longer under my cabinet. :)

now that you all think I'm a horrible mom.... LOL

Here's some fun pictures from Logan's B-day!

Grandma did face painting at the party!!

We had dress up clothes out for the kids to play with and Nanny picked up this hat--she wore it for quite a while!

he's so excited! We were singing Happy Birthday to him!

His awesome new bike!

Reunion Part 1

So i took a BILLION pictures at our family reunion this past week and now I have to go through them all and edit them. Here's some goofy pics of the boys from the first day we were there.

It's no secret that my boys are TOTALLY into sports--thanks to their dad. They see a basketball hoop and go crazy. So they found a smiley face volleyball and started shooting! Luckily Grandma Great had a small hoop too--they couldn't quite get it in the tall one!

Landen would whine at us until we picked him up to dunk-a-runk it (that's what we call it--I said we were goofy!!)

Shooting Kort with a pretend gun (Logan thought he was quite funny!)

A skinned knee. Or should I say ONE of his skinned knees. He also got two skinned elbows in the same night, all from jumping from the top of the stairs when the "cat came near him". LOL This kid is so scared of animals it makes me chuckle.

Anyone who knows Landen, knows that he always has a little dirt on his face. I can never keep this child clean! He was completely clean and then he bent down, turned around, and POOF! -- dirt beard.
